i admire people who could’ve turned cold after everything they’ve been through but still chose love anyway. there’s strength in that

Hi I’m Mags, I’m 18, I’m bi, and i need help getting outta this hellhole.

Over the past 2 years (roughly), I’ve been through a lot. My life has been at its worst since the later half of 2016, I’ve been

  • Impersonated by my mother to my girlfriend twice,
  • emotionally manipulated into joining the military
  • Emotionally manipulated into believing i would be incapable of doing anything worthwhile without the military
  • Have had my father (who is mostly absent) enter my life again to reinforce my family’s ideals
  • Had my social anxiety used against me
  • Have run away from home (to which my parents sought me out, convinced the person i was staying with that i was just being a brat and thus I’ve returned home under worse conditions since.)

I personally don’t want to join the military, and i plan on getting removed from the system, but in doing so, the chances of me being kicked out by my ship date (July 3rd, weeks after i finish high school) are extremely high. My mother has told me time and time again that she wouldn’t support me if i didn’t go into the military. She refuses to accept that i don’t want to go and still breathes down my neck over my willingness to go, and i am playing along, even though she knows i am. (She told me she’d rather i continue pretending for her even though i had a major breakdown over it before running away from home. )

All donations made will be going towards a small apartment for myself and possibly a roomate to help with rent. Every little bit counts, and every little bit is appreciated!

I also take commissions, in order to pay my phone bill. If i don’t pay by the 24th, my mother will take my phone away, preventing me from escaping to a safe online enviornment whenever i need to, and preventing me from even being able to make the money to pay as well (since i do my commissions on my phone.)

I’ve also recently made a Ko-fi for those of you who have it! Again, all donations matter!

I plan to offer more in the future, art wise. I’ve considered setting up a redbubble, but for now, I’ll only be taking commissions.

Again, every single donation matters, and I appreciate all the help i can get!

In the early years of space flight, both Russians and Americans used pencils in space. Unfortunately, pencil lead is made of graphite, a highly conductive material. Snapped graphite leads and particles in zero gravity are hugely problematic, as they will get sucked into the air ventilation or electronic equipment, easily causing shorts or fires in the pure oxygen environment of a capsule.

After the fire in Apollo 1 which killed all the astronauts on board, NASA required a writing instrument that wasn’t a fire hazard. Fisher spent over a million dollars (of his own money) creating a pressurized ball point pen, which NASA bought at $2.95 each. The Russian space program also switched over from pencils shortly after.

40 years later snide morons on the internet still snigger about it, because snide morons on the internet never know what they are talking about.

the pencil has a deathcount, and still gets away with being a joke
